Incomplete dominance is a situation in which you have one dominant allele and one recessive allele but unlike complete dominance, where only the dominant trait shows, a portion of the recessive gene will also show. An example might be flower color. The picture bellow shows 3 colors of flower. Let's assume their genotypes are RR Rr and rr. You could have the following combinations. As you can see, the heterozygous Ff in this example would produce a pink flower. Some of the dominant red shows but the dominance is incomplete and thus some of the white also shows producing the pink flower.

Genotype Phenotype Recessive/Dominant Homozygous/Heterozygous
FF Red Flower Dominant homozygous
Ff pink flower incomplete dominance heterozygous
ff white flower recessive homozygous

Incomplete dominance is when you have two dominant genes. For example, red flowers and white flowers are dominant. If an insect shares pollen with both plants, the colors will mix and you'll get a pink flower.

IT HAS INTERMEDIATE EXPRESSION IN PLANTS BETWEEN THE PHENOTYPE OF PARENT AND HYBRIDS

EXAMPLE:-TAKE A RED FLOWER AND A WHITE FLOWER WHOSE GENOTYPE GAMETES ARE RR AND rr RESPECTIVELY... IF WE CROSS WITH EACH OTHER WE GET 1 RED FLOWER, 2 PINK FLOWER & 1 WHITE FLOWER SO THE GENOTYPIC AND PHENOTYPIC RATIO WILL BE SAME i.e 1:2:1
